The Short Homestead is a 5-acre residence in the humid subtropical climate of Jacksonville Florida. The residents envision a productive, low-maintenance property which provides abundant edible yields while allowing them to maintain a consistent travel schedule. To meet this goal we designed a perennial agroforestry system. Within each tree guild are perennial food options as well as shrubs and herbaceous plants which promote sustained fertility for years to come.
